China-LAC Business Summit

The China-LAC Business Summit (hereinafter referred to as the Summit) was initiated in 2007 by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). It is China’s first institutional platform for promoting economic and trade cooperation targeting Latin America and the Caribbean, renowned as a flagship brand of practical collaboration between China and LAC. In 2015, the Summit became a sub-forum in the economic and trade sector under the framework of the China-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Forum.
The Summit is held annually by China and LAC countries in rotation. So far, the summit has been successfully hosted for 17 years. Each session has focused on international economic and trade trends, addressing the concerns of the Chinese and LAC business communities, and facilitating extensive and in-depth discussions on trade and investment policies, market opportunities, and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and LAC. During the Summit, in addition to the opening ceremony, a plenum, parallel meetings, a series of supporting events such as Business Innovation Cooperation Seminar, TPO Roundtable Meeting, Think Tank Cooperation Dialogue, and Business Matchmaking etc.
Each session of the Summit has received high-level attention and active participation from government and business leaders in both China and LAC. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 10th China-LAC Business Summit and delivered a written speech at the 15th China-LAC Business Summit. Vice President Han Zheng attended the 16th Summit and delivered a keynote speech. Heads of state from multiple Latin American countries, including Chile, Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Panama, Ecuador, Guyana, and Nicaragua, have attended previous sessions of the Summit. The 18th China-LAC Business Summit will be held from November 3rd to 4th, 2025, in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China.
